“My husband loves his coffee and doesn’t seem to care if his coffee maker is disgusting or not. I don’t drink coffee, so I don’t tend to think about his machine or the condition of its “innards.” We do have hard water here and tend to get a lot of calcium deposits. My husband’s machine might be helped if he actually used the filtered refrigerated water, but he just grabs the tap water as it is closer. When it does occur to me that his machine is probably really gross, I pour in some vinegar and brew it a few times to try to help clean it. I’m sure this helps, but it isn’t necessarily the best way to clean a coffee maker. So I was super excited to try a product designed for cleaning his machine. I really like that this descaling product has enough to clean two machines (or one machine twice, a few months apart). However, I am always worried about purchasing a liquid to be mailed, because you never know if the product will spill or not. Not to worry here. Not only is the product packed in a sturdy manufacturer’s box, it is also foiled package sealed inside, which keeps it from making a mess and also ensures quality. The bottle also has an internal seal. My first concern was how to figure out how to pour one half of the bottle through the machine. I would have liked to know how much was half by a measuring cup system, but I did my best. After that, it was smooth sailing. I poured in a pot full of clear water after adding the cleaner, and then ran two more pots full of clear water in sequentially (three brewing cycles) to rinse. Easy-peasy. I can’t say for sure how clean this got the inside of the coffee machine, but I know it did clean the pot a fair amount, and the part where the water and cleaner hit the inside of the machine that I could see, certainly got cleaner. So it seems to work. I will use it again.”

“Disclaimer...I didn't quite use this for a coffee machine. I tested it on an egg cooker that needed a desperate descaling and I'm gonna say this: It worked, amazingly. Whatever the solution is made from I'd say feels slightly viscous. It's not...greasy but it does cling. Within minutes of adding it to the cooker I watched it just start to kinda bubble. And within a little bit what was hard to scrub off before just begun scratching away. And after a few hours I was able to wipe all this away. With a few rinses it's back to shiny. This stuff is amazing. Thay said instructions state to add half the bottle at once into a coffee machine. So it's good for about two uses if using for coffee machines.”

“I never know if theses filters are actually needed. Yet when I take an old one out and break it open, it’s full of grit, grain and discolored. So I replace them every 30-45 days. I’m not a coffee aficionado, I just like coffee that tastes good and has a good dark red color. These filters appear to ale that happen.”
